Tò he, or clay whistles, are a popular toy for children in Vietnam, especially among children in pottery villages.
In the north, tò he is a toy made from rice flour, boiled and shaped into bright, colorful animal figures.
In the central region, particularly in Quang Nam and Hoi An, tò he is a small toy made of clay. The clay animal figures become friendly and familiar to the Vietnamese people due to their resemblance to common animals or the 12 zodiac signs. The hollow belly produces different sounds when blown into, including high, low, deep, and high-pitched tones.
In another approach, connecting with the traditional stories of Hoi An's countryside, the clay whistles are meticulously redesigned by Tropical Gift. The materials are made from safe natural wood and plywood.
Amidst the ancient moss-covered houses in the old town, along with the vibrant lanterns and exquisite pottery, we are honored to offer you a choice for a souvenir when you visit, a new design for an old toy, and a new way to continue the childhood sounds in contemporary life.
